It may only be February but if you are planning to hire a motorhome to take your family away in the summer you may wish to start your research into renting a leisure vehicle sooner rather than later. Why is this you may ask when summer is several months away?

Well, ever since COVID, there has been an increase in people having a short break or a week or two’s holiday in a motorhome. As with many things supply and demand has a bearing – the more people looking to hire a motorhome means that there is less choice for those who leave it until the last minute to rent a motorhome.

It is also worth noting that a significant number of people who have hired a motorhome in the last few years have probably told their family and friends how much they enjoyed their motorhome holiday and some of those people may have rented a motorhome.

If you book your motorhome rental well in advance of going away on holiday you will have a greater choice of leisure vehicle to consider. Leaving a rental until the last moment may result in you only being left with a more expensive motorhome to hire.

If you have a large family deciding to rent a motorhome a couple of weeks before your holiday may result in you finding it difficult to find a motorhome large enough to accommodate your family.

Equally, if you are looking for a smaller motorhome to accommodate just you and your partner, you may also find that there is limited choice the nearer you get to the date you are setting off on holiday.

It is also worth noting that if you were to book your motorhome rental now to take away in July or August it is something less to worry about and it is also something that you and your family can start looking forward to. You can then focus on such things as where to take your motorhome and which campsite(s) to stay at whilst on your motorhome touring holiday.

If this is the first time you will be going to drive a motorhome it also gives you the opportunity to perhaps attend a motorhome maneuvering course. After all, a motorhome is quite a bit larger than a family car.
